Overview
OpenHands is a community-focused AI-driven development platform providing an SDK, CLI, and GUI for building and deploying AI agents. The Python SDK allows developers to define and run agents locally or scale them in the cloud. The CLI offers a familiar experience for those who've worked with tools like Claude Code or Codex, supporting various LLMs including Claude and GPT. A local GUI enables running agents on a laptop, complemented by a REST API and React application. OpenHands Cloud offers hosted infrastructure, integrations with Slack, Jira, and Linear, multi-user support, RBAC, and collaboration features. Enterprise users can self-host OpenHands Cloud in their own VPC via Kubernetes, with source-available code and extended support under a commercial license. The platform utilizes a modular architecture, facilitating the integration of various components like evaluation infrastructure and Theory-of-Mind modules.
