Overview
Crucible facilitates collaborative code review, enabling teams to review code, discuss changes, share knowledge, and identify defects across various version control systems, including SVN, Git, Mercurial, CVS, and Perforce. It supports formal, workflow-based, and quick code reviews with assignable reviewers. Discussions are threaded and can be attached to specific source lines or entire changesets. Crucible integrates with Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo, enhancing the development workflow by automatically updating work items based on review activity and allowing review comments to be converted into Jira work items. The tool provides a complete audit trail for compliance and can be customized with REST APIs. While new sales have been discontinued (May 13, 2025) and support will end (May 15, 2028), existing users benefit from maintenance releases focused on security and bug fixes.
