Overview
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality assessment tool designed to help individuals gain self-awareness and understand how they interact with the world. Based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types, the MBTI identifies preferences across four dichotomies: Extraversion vs. Introversion, Sensing vs. Intuition, Thinking vs. Feeling, and Judging vs. Perceiving. By determining an individual's preferences in each category, the MBTI assigns one of sixteen distinct personality types. These types are then used to provide insights into communication styles, decision-making processes, strengths, and potential areas for growth. The MBTI is commonly used for personal development, career exploration, team building, and relationship counseling, offering a framework for understanding differences and fostering more effective interactions.
